Photo Shoot Round Two

Hey everyone,

My last post was full of pictures featuring the photo shoot Tayyibah and I did for my Media Studies coursework. Unfortunately right at the last minute I had to do them again - this time make them a little more glamorous. And that is exactly what they are. Tayyibah looked stunning and was just oozing class!

On Saturday morning we met up in town ready to do a spot of shopping. I grabbed three necklaces and  three pairs of earrings to mix and match and play around with the styling. We went with a plain black hijab as I wanted it to blend in the dark background.

For makeup, I used similar products to the last photoshoot, except this time I used the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette on Tayyibah's eyes. I went for a smokey bronze/brown eye for some glitz and glamour. On Tayyibah's lips I used the Loreal lipliner in 701 followed by MAC 'Hot Tahiti' lipstick and a slick of MAC 'Full for you' Lipgloss.

On to a few pictures.. I won't be uploading as many this time as I don't have time to sift through all of them :( But hopefully I will add some more in a future blogpost.

Reindeer necklace used as head piece! :)

Black and White.

The eyemakeup up close. Sorry for the rubbish iPhone camera quality..

Photoshopping away at College, still playing around with fonts and colours..

I am hoping to upload some more.. With deadlines creeping around I haven't got time to sift through the crazy amount of pictures we took!

Let Tayyibah know how AMAZING she looks in the comments below ;)

Until next time.. : )

Model shots...

Today's post is going to be mainly pictures from
our photo shoot on Sunday. I'm really happy with the outcome, let me know what you think too.
Obviously some of them need the background photoshopping (drain pipes and kitchen sinks don't really appear on album covers ; )

I am yet to decide as to which one I will pick to feature on the main cover.. You can let me know which is your favourite in the comments below.

On to the pictures:

Eid Mubarak!

Just a quick post from me to wish all of you celebrating - Eid Mubarak.
I hope you have had/will have an amazing and blessed day. I have had a great day spending time with my family and it was great to have a day off college : )

I've just got back from bowling - I came last in the first game and third in the second!
I'm just about to head off for dinner then cinema to watch 'Rush'

Here are a few pics of my makeup and outfit of the day.
I'm wearing my favourite big jumper/sweater from Pull and Bear, a plain black dress underneath from H&M and standard black jeans.

I went a little heavier with the eye makeup. I used the Sleek 'Au Natural' palette using a purple eyeshadow all over the lid and a matte brown shadow in the outer corners. I lined my upper lash line with the Maybelline gel liner and used the same in the waterline and also applied some of the same purple to the lower lashline

Bowling :)

Sorry for the crappy pictures :/

How was your Eid day?

Model Makeup

Part of my Media Studies coursework is to create an album cover (back, front and inlay) and also a magazine cover and article. I needed a model and didn't have to look any further because of my best buddy Tayyibah who was so happy that I had asked her.
Tayyibah has such a lovely bubbly personality and is so pretty (we'll talk about those cheekbones later!) so I knew she would be the perfect model

On Sunday afternoon, armed with a bag of makeup and brushes I headed to Tayyibah's place ready to do her makeup.

Products used:
Jouer tinted moisturiser in Nude
Dior Nude Blush/Bronze in Pink Glow 001
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfecter in Opal
MAC eye shadows: All that Glitters, Naked Lunch, Mulch, Tempting, Woodwinked and Black Tied
Maybelline Liquid eyeliner
Maybelline bottom liner
Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in 68, Candeur
Chanel lip gloss in 73

Here is a quick step-by-step guide to show you how I achieved the look:

Face:
After applying tinted moisturiser to Tayyibah's whole face I contoured her amazing cheekbones with the bronze side of the Dior palette. Then applied blush and highlighter.

Eyes:
I didn't take an eye primer so I used a touch of the tinted moisturiser across Tayy's eyelids and then went in with MAC all that glitters all over the lid . I then used a pencil brush and Mulch and Tempting eyeshadows to create a V shape. Tayyibah's eyes are a really nice shape and make applying eyeshadow that much easier! I blended it out and added a touch of Black Tied eyeshadow for a little more dimension. I felt like it needed a little something extra so I applied Woodwinked eyeshadow to centre of the lids.
The eyeliner was the trickiest part especially trying to get the flicks to match but after trying a couple times and with the help of Simple wet wipes we got there in the end!

Lips:

Quick swipe of lipstick and gloss to complete to the look
Step 1: Applying the eyeshadows

Applying the top liner

What a cutie!

Cheekbone envy!!!

Tayyibah applied the mascara and bottom liner herself and I filled in her eyebrows slightly.
The look was complete with a scarf from Accessorize and a Primark headband

I am so happy with how the pictures have come out on the lovely DSLR.
I will be posting the proper pictures in the next post which should be up in the next few days. Here's a sneaky peek cute montage Tayyibah created and posted on Instagram

A huge thank you to my lovely friend Tayyibah for modelling for me!
Comment below how gorgeous she looks!

P.S Eid Mubarak to all of you celebrating. Hope everyone has a fab day.
